Hey Education Nation, welcome to Pedagogo! I'm your host Dr. Allison Case, a former faculty member and Director of Curriculum and Accreditation at a Tier 1 Research Institute, and now an education consultant for ExamSoft.   I'm also your host for Pedagogo and I'm so glad you decided to give us a listen.  So, for starters, what the heck is a Pedagogo, and why did we choose it as our title?  A Pedagogo is in educator, and we titled our podcast Pedagogo because it's designed to keep educators on the move, or the go, and up to date with what's hot and happening in higher education in a way that's practical and applicable to your classroom today, I promise!  What's worse than reading a journal article only to conclude you don't have the first idea how to implement today's latest trends? That's the worst.  Enter Pedagogo!  We’re here to make you bold, informed, and ready to try. This season Pedagogo will be brought to you by the boots on the ground - your peers, your colleagues, and thought leaders in your field.  I interview faculty, administrators, accreditors and private sector education assessment specialist to give you the information you need to know, distilled down to the core concepts, and with the specific steps you can take today to incorporate the best of pedagogy in your program.   It's my hope that Pedagogo will keep you current on all things pedagogy while connecting you to other educators in a fast, fun format that makes staying current easier in these busy times.  Each week I’ll comb the literature, attend the conferences, and bring you information from the front lines.  We'll talk about topics like last week's Washington Post article on the surprising fight in favor of letter grades by students in a post COVID classroom,  how to avoid common mistakes when posting your lecture via video for the first time, (don't tell me you forgot the captions),  and we’ll talk about things like the new face of virtual accreditation visits.  That should be interesting.  And how to administer high stakes assessments when your students are all at home in their pajamas, and much, much more.  I can't wait for you to start listening and start connecting with us.  Speak to you soon.
